Coffee Maven Note: Lamppost Coffee Roasters takes a family to build and run. Yes, we really are a family business! It has taken the whole family to launch Lamppost and see my (Val's) dream become a reality. We do have lots of community and friend support, but I am very grateful for my family working alongside of me (sometimes for and, at times, inspite of me) to create Lamppost Coffee Roasters. ~ Val, Owner & Coffee Maven

This week, our family member being highlighted is Kari’s husband, Chris Grinstead. Chris definitely adds color and character to both the family and business. Here’s a little about Chris:

How are you related to the Lamppost Family? Married into it (Kari's husband)

(Chris & Kari - October 2015)

What is your role in the business? External revenue (Coffee Maven Note: True, but also Chris comes as often as he can to help Jeff roast. He is emerging as a production coffee roaster which will free Jeff up to be our full time Roastmaster.)

(Chris and our friend, Jason, helping label and bag coffee)

Favorite brewing method: French press

(Chris & Val learning to roast...the early method of using a breadmaker and heat gun)

Favorite things to do not coffee related: Fishing Spend time with family Golfing Working

Dream List: Travel to the nations

(Chris sharing his enjoyment of fishing with daughter, Lauren)

Something not generally known about you: Doesn't play well with others and runs with scissors (From his wife: Enjoys being a phantom)
