Coffee Maven Note: Every member of our family is an important member of the Lamppost Coffee Roasters team. This week’s highlighted family member is no different. Jonathan helps do a lot of the heavy lifting for me. I greatly value his part in this endeavor. For the past two summers, Jon (and his friend, James) have been vital to the loading up, setting up and tearing down of our booth at The Tunes@Tapps Outdoor Market. Jonathan was born with some differing abilities and faces some more difficult challenges than many of us. He is incredibly kind, helpful, strong and very verbal. He is a valuable member of our team and family. ~ Val, Owner & Coffee Maven

Now, here's a little bit about Jonathan:

(Jonathan with Mom & Coffee Maven, Val, Jessica & Kari)

How are you related to the Lamppost Family? I am the son of the owners, Val & Jeff.

What is your role in the business? I am the muscle of Lamppost Coffee Roasters…I am The Brute Squad. (Can you name that movie?)

Favorite fact or aspect of coffee/coffee industry you have enjoyed learning about: The different tastes in coffee from the different coffee regions as well as the effect of the roast level on the coffee flavor. I would like to learn to roast. I would like expand my palate so I can get better at tasting the wide variety of flavors found in coffee.

Favorite brewing method: America Drip Coffee…it’s the easiest brewing method.

Favorite coffee: Right now, the Burundi Nkuba. I think this has been my all-time favorite coffee.

Favorite things to do not coffee related: Collect sports memorabilia, fishing, running, spending time out of doors, play basketball, avid Seahawks fan

(Jon being the Brute Squad in Alaska too!)

Dream List: Climb Mt. Rainier, visit Africa on a missions trip, get a college degree in landscape architecture, live on my own

(Meeting Captain America)

Something not generally known about you: That’s a good question…I’m an open book! Lol! I have some special abilities and superpowers: I have autism.
